Roberta McQuaid spearheaded the efforts to open the doors of St. Aloysius Catholic School after St. Mary’s School in Ware announced its closure in 2015.  Roberta did not want to lose a local option for a Catholic education for her own children, and for others seeking the type of schooling she remembered so fondly from her own childhood.  Prior to embarking on this endeavor, Roberta worked at Old Sturbridge Village in middle management for over two decades, where she mixed her love of history with her love of plants.  She has also been a regular columnist for Turley Publications since 2004.  Roberta and her husband Rich have 2 daughters and a menagerie of chickens and cats on their old homestead.
